Container Rail Freight
Container rail freight moves an accepted loading unit between identified rail terminals. Zenith Eclipse builds the enquiry around station codes, container ownership, cargo and departure requirements. Available train services, terminal handling and any gauge interface are checked before the proposed corridor becomes a confirmed booking.
Scope and responsibilities
Service scope and requirements
Container size alone does not confirm rail acceptance. The operator, wagon, terminal and complete route must accept the equipment and load.
| Scope item | Requirement or agreed coverage |
|---|---|
| Terminal identity | Departure and arrival stations with operator-recognized codes |
| Container arrangement | Size, type, ownership and empty positioning or return terms |
| Cargo and mass | Commodity, package count, cargo weight and container gross mass |
| Rail acceptance | Container condition, route limits and equipment compatibility |
| Departure basis | Ready date, terminal cutoff and confirmed booking position |
| Border interfaces | Customs sequence and any gauge-transfer location and method |
| Consignment record | Applicable rail note and responsible documentation parties |
| Door connections | Origin pickup, destination trucking and receiving appointments |
Best-fit requirements
When to use this service
Suitable for packaged industrial goods and commercial shipments that fit an accepted container service. Repeat movements benefit from a consistent booking brief covering terminal cutoffs, equipment circulation and delivery demand at the receiving end.
Execution and deliverables
How the work is coordinated
Reconcile container, seal and weight details before terminal handover. Updates follow accepted terminal receipt, train departure, border events, arrival and release as data becomes available. CIM, SMGS or a common CIM/SMGS note is selected according to the applicable carriage and participating operators; the common note is not universal. Gauge changes require a confirmed transfer arrangement and do not by themselves establish that cargo must be unpacked.
Prepare your enquiry
Send station codes or door addresses, container type and count, commodity, gross mass, ready date and delivery window. State equipment ownership, special cargo conditions, customs scope and any required inland trucking.
