There is no single useful ‘standard’ specification for every wheat purchase. A class or grade name alone does not guarantee protein, moisture, falling number or processing performance. The contract should state the analytical basis, test method and acceptance limit required for the intended use and destination.

Quality control begins with the approved contract specification. Depending on the origin and commercial scope, the shipment can be supported by sampling, analysis, weight verification, pre-loading condition checks and independent inspection.

Dry storage, lot segregation and controlled handling are coordinated to reduce commingling, moisture exposure and contamination risks. The agreed certificate should identify the sampled lot or shipment.

The final document list depends on the origin, destination, payment terms, Incoterms® rule and regulatory requirements. It is confirmed before shipment so the buyer, bank, customs broker and inspection parties work from the same checklist.

Documents can include a commercial invoice, packing or weight list, certificate of origin, transport document, certificate of analysis or quality certificate, phytosanitary certificate, fumigation certificate, insurance certificate for the agreed term, and an independent inspection certificate when contracted.

Packaging & order formats

Available shipment formats can include bulk vessel parcels, loose bulk in suitable lined containers, bagged full-container loads, 25 kg or 50 kg polypropylene sacks, and big bags. Actual options depend on origin, quantity, loading infrastructure and destination rules.
