Product overview

Meal, expeller and ground whole flaxseed are different products.

Zenith Eclipse supplies flaxseed meal, also called linseed meal in some markets, for professional feed manufacturing and ingredient distribution. The offer identifies the actual product rather than relying on an ambiguous trade name: extracted meal, mechanically pressed expeller or cake, and ground whole seed have different processing histories and composition profiles.

Every quotation aligns extraction route, heat-treatment declaration, protein, fibre, residual oil, moisture, particle size, quantity, packing, shipment period, Incoterms® rule, analysis and documents. Values, origin, certifications, stock and suitability are confirmed only for the quoted material and destination.

Applications

Flaxseed Meal selected for the way your operation uses it.

01

Ruminant compound feed

A protein-, fibre- and residual-oil-bearing material evaluated within complete dairy, beef and other ruminant formulations.

02

Poultry and swine feed

Considered where the offered composition, processing and safety specification fit the species, life stage and complete ration.

03

Equine and specialty feed

Specified by physical form, analytical profile and safety requirements for professionally formulated products.

04

Feed premix and ingredient blending

Ground or densified material incorporated into controlled feed-manufacturing processes under the buyer's formulation and destination rules.

Contract specification

Define the oil-removal process before comparing composition.

Mechanical pressing and solvent extraction do not produce an automatic protein, fibre or residual-oil grade. Compare current offers only after the identity, analytical method, units and as-received or dry-matter basis are aligned. Ground whole flaxseed is a separate product and must not be substituted for extracted meal.

Quality control & handling

Protect composition, condition and feed safety by lot.

The signed specification and representative lot sample control acceptance. Agreed checks can cover identity, extraction route, protein, fibre, residual oil, moisture, ash, particle distribution, sensory condition and risk-based microbiological, cyanogenic, contaminant or residual-solvent criteria.

Residual oil and moisture can affect storage behaviour. Clean, cool and dry storage, protection from condensation, heat and foreign odours, lot segregation, pest control and documented stock rotation help preserve condition. The receiving nutritionist determines suitability and inclusion in the complete feed.

  • Meal and expeller identities kept separate
  • Methods and reporting basis recorded
  • Lot and COA references matched
  • Independent analysis arranged when contracted
02

Export documentation

Build the evidence package around the intended feed use.

The quotation identifies the technical specification, lot-specific certificate of analysis, processing declaration, traceability information and risk-based safety reports required for the destination. Claims such as origin, non-GMO, organic or certification status appear only when current evidence is available and contracted.

Commercial and border documents can include the invoice, packing or weight list, transport document, certificate of origin, inspection record and destination-specific feed, health or import documents. The required issuer, format and timing are agreed before dispatch.

03

Packaging & order formats

Choose a pack that protects a milled, oil-bearing material.

Suitable bulk loading, lined containers, flexible intermediate bulk containers or industrial bags can be reviewed according to grade, route, quantity and receiving equipment. No pack size or minimum order is presented as permanent availability.

The offer states net weight, tolerance, liner or barrier requirements, closure, palletization, lot marks, label language and loading configuration. Pellets and fine meal receive separate physical and fines specifications.

04

Logistics & Incoterms

Keep the meal dry and traceable through every handoff.

Transport units are checked for cleanliness, dryness, water-ingress risk, pests, foreign odours and incompatible previous cargo. Loading, seal, lot and weight records are coordinated where required by the contract.

The quotation states the Incoterms® 2020 rule and exact named place or port, transport mode, shipment window, inspection point, insurance responsibility and document handoff. Availability and lead time remain subject to the written offer.

What we supply

Flaxseed meal forms by process and physical specification

These are quotable configurations, not standing stock claims. The contract identifies the extraction route and final form; ground whole flaxseed remains outside this product category.

01

Mechanically extracted meal

Pressed solids milled or screened to an agreed form, with residual oil and thermal history stated.

02

Solvent-extracted meal

Further-extracted material specified for composition, heat treatment and applicable residual-solvent criteria.

03

Flaxseed expeller or press cake

Coarse mechanically pressed material quoted under a separate identity and physical specification.

04

Fine or standard-ground meal

Meal with an agreed sieve distribution, oversize and fines tolerance for feed blending.

05

Pelleted flaxseed meal

Densified feed form with the underlying meal identity, pellet dimensions, fines and processing aids declared.

Flaxseed Meal supplier FAQs

Answers procurement teams need before booking.

01What is flaxseed meal?+

It is the solid flaxseed fraction remaining after oil removal. The contract should identify mechanical or solvent extraction and the final physical form.

02Is flaxseed meal the same as ground whole flaxseed?+

No. Ground whole flaxseed is milled intact seed and retains the whole-seed oil fraction. Extracted meal has a different process and composition profile.

03How does expeller or press cake differ from meal?+

Expeller or cake is mechanically pressed residue in a coarse form. Terminology varies by market, so the process, final form and residual-oil result should be stated explicitly.

04What values should buyers compare?+

Compare protein, fibre, residual oil, moisture and ash on the same as-received or dry-matter basis, using agreed methods and acceptance rules.

05Is there one standard flaxseed meal protein value?+

No. Seed, hull fraction, oil removal, processing and moisture basis change the result. The quotation and lot COA control the supplied value.

06Can flaxseed meal be used in any animal feed?+

No universal suitability or inclusion rate applies. A qualified nutritionist should assess the exact lot within the species-, life-stage- and destination-specific complete feed.

07Which documents can accompany an order?+

The contract can require a technical specification, lot COA, process and traceability declarations, commercial documents, inspection records and destination-specific feed documents.

08How are price, MOQ and availability confirmed?+

They are quote-specific and depend on identity, analysis, form, testing, quantity, packing, shipment period, route, Incoterm and destination.
