Quotation overview

One complete freight brief. Every practical route considered.

A freight price without a defined cargo, route, date and delivery scope can be misleading. A complete commercial brief allows air, ocean, road, rail and multimodal options to be assessed on the same operational basis.

Standard containerized freight, temperature-controlled cargo and oversized or heavy units need different equipment and acceptance checks. Zenith Eclipse reviews the information supplied, identifies material gaps and develops a written scope around suitable modes, handling requirements and destination conditions. Availability, acceptance, schedules and final charges remain subject to the parties named in the quotation.

All-mode transport structures

From standard freight to specialist cargo.

Each mode is reviewed against the same cargo facts, route, timing and delivery scope. Equipment and operating acceptance are confirmed for the actual shipment.

Heavy-lift capability

Cargo coverage

Plan around the load—not a generic rate.

Different cargo profiles need different measurement, equipment, documents and handling controls. These are common starting points, not automatic acceptance promises.

01

Containerized commercial freight

Cartons, pallets, bags, drums, crates and other standard loading units moving through defined door, port, airport or terminal scopes.

02

Agricultural, food and pharmaceutical cargo

Commodity, ingredient and eligible temperature-sensitive shipments requiring product-aware packing, documents, monitoring or cold-chain review.

03

Machinery and industrial equipment

Factory machinery, industrial skids, generators, transformers, pipe spools and equipment with lifting, securing or site-access requirements.

04

Construction, mining and energy cargo

Excavators, loaders, long components, steel structures and oil-and-gas equipment requiring specialist equipment, permits or engineered handoffs.

05

Urgent, valuable or controlled shipments

Time-critical, high-value, fragile, dangerous or security-sensitive cargo assessed only after complete disclosure and operating acceptance.

06

Oversized and heavy units

Out-of-gauge cargo that may require flat rack, open top, low-loader, breakbulk, heavy-lift or RoRo options based on verified geometry and weight.

Build a usable RFQ

Use one structured brief when the mode is open.

Select every mode you want considered, or ask for a best-fit review. Specialist forms are available when air, rail, road or project cargo is already decided.

Commercial planning

What affects an international freight quote?

A useful comparison keeps the cargo, endpoints, delivery responsibility, shipment window and special controls consistent across every mode.

  1. 01Mode and service level — each transport structure has different handling points and service priorities
  2. 02Chargeable measurement — actual or volumetric weight, revenue tonnes, loading units, container type or vehicle capacity
  3. 03Route and delivery points — distance, gateways, transfers, borders, remote locations and site access
  4. 04Equipment and handling — containers, vehicles, wagons, refrigeration, lifting, securing and consolidation
  5. 05Shipment window and capacity — readiness, required timing, seasonality, schedules and current market position
  6. 06Commodity and regulatory profile — classification, dangerous goods, product controls, permits and inspections
  7. 07Incoterm and contracted scope — customs, first and last mile, documents and requested insurance review
  8. 08Variable and ancillary charges — fuel, security, terminals, handling, storage, waiting time and currency

After submission

A complete brief moves through six controlled decisions.

The team validates the request before proposing a mode, commercial scope or operating handoff.

01

Secure receipt

A successful submission records the commercial brief and uploaded documents for review.

02

Completeness check

The team checks the route, cargo, timing and requested scope and asks for material missing information where necessary.

03

Mode and feasibility review

Suitable transport structures are considered against cargo acceptance, infrastructure, equipment, regulatory and destination requirements.

04

Comparable written offer

The response identifies the proposed scope, route basis, inclusions, exclusions, assumptions, currency, validity and estimated milestones.

05

Approval and booking

No capacity or equipment is treated as committed until the commercial scope is accepted and the relevant operating parties confirm the booking.

06

Operational handover

Once confirmed, the agreed shipment data, documents, responsibilities, milestones and escalation contacts move into the operating workflow.

Quotation FAQs

Answers to check before you submit.

01What information is required for an international freight quote?+

At minimum, provide the cargo description, package count, dimensions, gross weight, origin, destination, cargo-ready date and required delivery scope. Incoterm, HS code, value and special-handling data improve the comparison.

02What if I do not know the best transport mode?+

Select Recommend best-fit. Zenith Eclipse can review potentially suitable modes against the cargo, route and timing, but feasibility remains subject to operating and regulatory confirmation.

03Can I request a comparison between several modes?+

Yes. Select every mode you want considered. A meaningful comparison should use the same cargo, route endpoints, delivery scope and shipment window.

04Is the submitted form a confirmed freight booking?+

No. It is a request for commercial review. The written quotation or proposal states the applicable assumptions and validity, and a booking remains subject to acceptance and operating confirmation.

05Are quoted transit times guaranteed?+

Any transit or milestone is an estimate based on the stated routing and conditions. Carrier schedules, weather, congestion, border processing, customs and operational changes can affect actual timing.

06Are customs clearance, duties and taxes included?+

Only when expressly stated in the written quotation. Customs decisions remain with the competent authorities, and duties, taxes, inspections or third-party charges may be outside the quoted scope.

07Can dangerous, temperature-sensitive or oversized cargo be submitted?+

Yes, for specialist review. Full and accurate disclosure is required, and movement remains subject to classification, packing, equipment, route, carrier, facility and regulatory acceptance.

08Can cargo insurance be reviewed with the quotation?+

An optional cargo-insurance review can be requested when the cargo value and shipment details are supplied. Cargo insurance and carrier liability are different protections; available terms, exclusions and responsible parties must be confirmed separately.

09What information is needed for an oversized or heavy-cargo quote?+

Provide the dimensions and gross weight of every unit, quantity, packing method, photos or drawings, lifting points and centre of gravity where known, pickup and delivery sites, ready date, deadline and all handling or route restrictions. This information supports equipment, lifting, securing and permit review.

10How are flat rack, open-top, breakbulk, heavy-lift and RoRo options compared?+

The suitable method depends on verified cargo geometry, weight distribution, packing, rollability, lifting and securing points, route availability, port and vessel capability and final-site access. A preference can be submitted, but the operating method remains subject to technical and carrier confirmation.

11Can the quotation include door-to-site delivery, route planning, permits or escorts?+

These services can be reviewed where the lane and local capability permit. Provide full site addresses, access limits, bridge or axle concerns, loading and discharge equipment, working windows and known permit requirements so responsibilities and exclusions can be stated in writing.
