Rapeseed is the broad commodity; canola is quality-defined.

Zenith Eclipse supplies rapeseed to oil crushers, processors, feed-chain buyers and commodity importers. Rapeseed should not be described as canola by default: canola identity depends on the governing low-erucic and low-glucosinolate definition plus supporting lot evidence.

Every quotation states rapeseed or verified canola-type identity, intended oil route, governing grade or private specification, oil and condition criteria, conditional chemistry, quantity, packing, shipment period, Incoterms® rule, inspection and documents. Origin, species, crop year, grade, trait and availability are confirmed only for the offered lot.

Rapeseed and canola cannot be used as automatic synonyms.

Canola refers to rapeseed meeting a defined low-erucic and low-glucosinolate standard. The contract should name the governing definition and analytical basis. Erucic acid is evaluated in the oil fatty-acid profile; glucosinolate results require the tested material, moisture basis and method to be stated.

Quality control & handling

Checks can cover identity, oil content, moisture, dockage, foreign material, distinctly green seed, heated and total damage, odour, infestation and conditional erucic-acid, glucosinolate, protein or destination safety tests.

Low-erucic, high-erucic, treated, untreated and identity-preserved lots remain segregated whenever those distinctions affect use. Seed-tight, clean and dry storage and transport protect against wetting, condensation, heat, pests, foreign odours and cross-contamination.

The document matrix depends on intended use, destination, route and sale term. For canola-quality or chemistry-specific orders, the COA should state the precise product identity plus the analytical method and reporting basis for each required result.

The contracted set may include a commercial invoice, packing list, transport document, certificate of origin, lot-specific certificate of analysis, grade, weight or independent inspection certificate, phytosanitary certificate where required, treatment record, verified identity or trait statement, insurance document and food- or feed-chain declarations.
