Covered Barley Supplier | Bulk Hull-On Grain
Covered barley retains an attached outer hull after harvest. Zenith Eclipse reviews covered-grain enquiries for malting, food processing or feed, with the end-use specification added to the hull-type description.
Quality parameters
Technical specifications
Illustrative RFQ targets, subject to lot availability and buyer approval. These are not a stock COA or a universal grade. Agree sampling, test methods, foreign-matter definitions and final acceptance limits before contracting. Example physical targets for cleaned covered barley. A hull description does not establish a malting or food grade. Protein must state its moisture basis and nitrogen conversion factor.
| Parameter | Indicative RFQ target |
|---|---|
| Hull and row type | Covered; two-row or six-row identified in the offer |
| Protein | Report % dry matter, nitrogen × 6.25; range set by end use |

| Screenings | 3.0% maximum passing a 2.2 mm slotted sieve |
| Peeled and broken kernels | Separate reported result; limit matched to end use |
Applications
Common uses
Suitable lots enter malting, pearling or feed-processing programmes. Food processors account for hull removal when planning equipment and usable yield. Buying detail: Request both gross intake and cleaned-grain assessment where dockage affects settlement. Maltsters should add germination and varietal criteria; feed buyers should add nutritional analysis.
Export planning
Shipping & logistics
Bulk vessel, container-liner, big-bag and 50 kg bag options depend on origin and tonnage. Agree handling to limit hull damage, loading inspection and the required origin, quality and plant-health records. FOB, CFR or CIF can be quoted for suitable sea shipments at a named port under Incoterms® 2020. Container and inland handover terms are confirmed for the route.
