Intermodal Container Corridors

An intermodal container corridor moves goods across successive transport modes in the same loading unit, without unloading the goods at the mode change. Zenith Eclipse checks whether the proposed container can complete the route through compatible operators and terminals. The corridor is defined by accepted equipment and handoffs, not by a map line alone.

Scope and responsibilities

Service scope and requirements

A planned cargo transload changes the continuity of the loading unit. Any inspection-related opening or seal replacement must be recorded separately.

Best-fit requirements

When to use this service

Suitable for containerized trade lanes where maintaining one loading unit reduces planned cargo handling. Continuity can simplify handoffs, but does not remove customs inspection, terminal delay or the need for cargo protection and appropriate securing.

Execution and deliverables

How the work is coordinated

Validate acceptance of the same unit across the complete route before positioning it for loading. Track container and seal references through terminal transfer events, recording inspections or authorized changes. A one-contract or multiple-contract arrangement is a separate commercial decision and does not define intermodal transport. If disruption requires unloading into another unit, obtain instruction and document the revised handling, liability and delivery plan.

Prepare your enquiry

Send origin and destination, proposed modes, container type and ownership, cargo mass, commodity and shipment frequency. State whether unpacking is restricted, any special condition controls and the intended empty-return location.
