Chemical-Process Ethylene
Chemical-process ethylene is purchased for a defined conversion process. Zenith Eclipse reviews the required feed specification with the proposed origin and logistics route, including impurities that may affect the buyer's reaction, separation or finished-product requirements.
Quality parameters
Specifications and buying requirements
Illustrative RFQ targets and purchasing requirements, subject to production or supply confirmation and buyer approval. These are not a stock COA or a universal grade. Specify the reporting basis, sampling and test method; the accepted offer defines the final quality and delivery limits. Illustrative RFQ fields, not a standard grade declaration. Establish numerical limits with the receiving plant and confirm them against the offered producer specification and current COA.
| Parameter | Indicative RFQ target |
|---|---|
| Chemical identity | Ethylene / ethene; CAS 74-85-1; C2H4 |
| Ethylene content | Buyer-defined minimum; report mol% or mass% explicitly |
| Methane and ethane | Declare separately by gas chromatography on the agreed basis |
| Acetylene and C3 components | Report individual results and agreed process-specific maxima |
| Water | Contract maximum in mg/kg or ppm mol, with method stated |
| Carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide | Separate ppm results; confirm mass or molar basis |
| Oxygen and nitrogen | Individual limits where required by the receiving process |
| Sulfur and oxygenates | Specify analytes, total-sulfur convention and reporting limits |
| COA acceptance | Named sampling point, approved test methods and receiving-plant release |
Applications
Common uses
Feedstock for approved chemical production routes, including ethylene oxide and ethylene dichloride manufacture. Each application requires its own feed acceptance criteria. Buying detail: Provide the intended derivative and required impurity schedule. A safety data sheet describes hazards and composition ranges; use a technical specification and delivery COA to define contractual quality.
Export planning
Shipping & logistics
Supply is assessed through compatible pipelines or specialized gas logistics, subject to origin, volume and destination acceptance. Confirm the shipment SDS, transfer interfaces, inspection documents and qualified carrier before dispatch. Agree a named delivery point and suitable Incoterm; marine FOB, CFR or CIF terms require an accepted gas-carrier and terminal arrangement.
