Modified Polyethylene Compounds
Modified polyethylene is purchased against a defined formulation and application. Zenith Eclipse sources declared compounds with the base resin, modifier package and acceptance properties recorded in the quotation.
Quality parameters
Specifications and buying requirements
Illustrative RFQ targets and purchasing requirements, subject to production or supply confirmation and buyer approval. These are not a stock COA or a universal grade. Specify the reporting basis, sampling and test method; the accepted offer defines the final quality and delivery limits. Buyer-defined RFQ template. Filled, coloured, stabilised and other modified compounds do not share a single density, melt-flow or performance specification.
| Parameter | Indicative RFQ target |
|---|---|
| Base resin | HDPE, LDPE, LLDPE or declared blend; grade identified |
| Modification | Additive, filler, pigment or modifier function specified |
| Composition | Agreed mass fractions and formulation revision recorded |
| Density | Report g/cm³ at 23°C; ASTM D792; compound-specific tolerance |
| Melt mass-flow rate | Report g/10 min; ASTM D1238; temperature and load stated |
| Example MFR condition | 190°C / 2.16 kg only if suitable for the selected compound |
| Moisture / volatiles | Method and maximum set for formulation and process |
| Performance acceptance | Define article tests, conditioning and pass criteria |
| Material declarations | Virgin/recycled content, restricted substances and SDS |
Applications
Common uses
Specified compounds are used in moulded components, extrusion products and specialist packaging where an unmodified resin does not meet the agreed requirement. Suitability depends on the individual formulation and process trial. Buying detail: Send a target specification or retained sample and identify critical properties such as colour, stiffness or weathering. Require written change control for base resin and additives so repeat orders retain the approved formulation.
Export planning
Shipping & logistics
Specify sealed bags or lined big bags, formulation code, batch identification and any documented storage requirements. Confirm packing availability and destination paperwork before shipment. FCA, or FOB, CFR and CIF for appropriate sea movements, must include the agreed named place or port.
