Pipe Polyethylene Compounds
Pipe compound enquiries require the intended service, pipe standard and exact producer grade. Zenith Eclipse coordinates quotations for documented polyethylene compounds; a general HDPE description cannot establish pressure-pipe suitability.
Quality parameters
Specifications and buying requirements
Illustrative RFQ targets and purchasing requirements, subject to production or supply confirmation and buyer approval. These are not a stock COA or a universal grade. Specify the reporting basis, sampling and test method; the accepted offer defines the final quality and delivery limits. RFQ checklist for a qualified pressure-pipe compound. PE80, PE100 and PE100-RC claims require supporting evidence for the actual compound; no pressure rating is assigned by this page.
| Parameter | Indicative RFQ target |
|---|---|
| Producer and compound | Exact grade code and production source required |
| Material classification | Declared PE class with applicable qualification documents |
| Density | Report compound value in g/cm³ at 23°C; ISO 1183-1 |
| Melt mass-flow rate | Report g/10 min at 190°C / 5 kg; ISO 1133-1; grade limits agreed |
| Colour and stabilisation | Black or specified colour; complete formulation approved |
| Pigment dispersion | Agreed test method and grade-specific acceptance limits |
| Long-term performance | Required hydrostatic and crack-resistance evidence by standard |
| Service approvals | Potable-water or gas-use approvals only where documented |
| Traceability | Batch COA, TDS, SDS and qualification validity checked |
Applications
Common uses
Qualified compounds are selected for water, gas and industrial pipe systems according to the applicable project requirements. Drainage and other non-pressure applications have separate material criteria. Buying detail: Provide the pipe standard, service medium and required approvals before selecting a grade. Finished-pipe pressure capability also depends on dimensions, design conditions and pipe manufacture; a compound certificate is only one part of that assessment.
Export planning
Shipping & logistics
Keep qualified compound lots in sealed, identified bags or approved bulk packaging, without unauthorised blending or repacking. Confirm export documents and the approved source. Agree FCA at the handover place or suitable FOB, CFR or CIF sea terms with named ports.
