Polymer-Grade Propylene Contract
Polymer-grade propylene contracts require both a high propylene concentration and tight control of catalyst-sensitive impurities. Zenith Eclipse reviews the full buyer specification before matching an origin, delivery route and commercial parcel.
Quality parameters
Specifications and buying requirements
Illustrative RFQ targets and purchasing requirements, subject to production or supply confirmation and buyer approval. These are not a stock COA or a universal grade. Specify the reporting basis, sampling and test method; the accepted offer defines the final quality and delivery limits. Illustrative RFQ fields, not a guaranteed grade. A minimum such as 99.5 mol% must be expressly agreed; the grade name alone does not establish the analytical basis or individual impurity limits.
| Parameter | Indicative RFQ target |
|---|---|
| Propylene purity | Example RFQ minimum: 99.5 mol%; confirm the offered grade and analytical basis |
| Propane | Individual maximum on the same basis as the purity result |
| Methylacetylene and propadiene | Separate or combined maximum as required by the plant; state ppm basis |
| Water | Contract limit with method and reporting units, such as mg/kg |
| Carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide | Separate limits; agree method sensitivity and ppm basis |
| Oxygen and sulfur | Individual oxygen and total-sulfur limits; specify reporting conventions |
| Oxygenates and other hydrocarbons | Buyer-defined analyte list, including methanol where relevant |
| Process acceptance | Receiving plant approval of the complete specification and proposed source |
| COA and traceability | Delivery-specific results with batch or cargo identity and methods |
Applications
Common uses
Primarily purchased for polypropylene production, subject to the receiving process's approval. High nominal purity does not replace catalyst-specific acceptance criteria. Buying detail: Attach the complete polymerization feed specification and identify any analytes required below routine reporting limits. Specify unodorized product where required, sampling responsibilities and whether acceptance is determined at loading or receipt.
Export planning
Shipping & logistics
Approved pipeline, pressure-tank or specialized gas-carrier routes are considered according to origin, parcel and receiving facilities. Export documents include the applicable shipment SDS and contracted quality records. Agree the named delivery point and suitable Incoterm; marine FOB, CFR or CIF terms require confirmed gas-carrier and terminal acceptance.
