Refinery-Grade Propylene Contract
Refinery-grade propylene is a propylene-containing stream whose propane balance and other components matter commercially and technically. Zenith Eclipse reviews the actual analysis against the buyer's processing capability before proposing a contract.
Quality parameters
Specifications and buying requirements
Illustrative RFQ targets and purchasing requirements, subject to production or supply confirmation and buyer approval. These are not a stock COA or a universal grade. Specify the reporting basis, sampling and test method; the accepted offer defines the final quality and delivery limits. Illustrative RFQ fields for a variable refinery stream. Do not assume a fixed propylene percentage, polymer-grade suitability or identical transport classification across all offered compositions.
| Parameter | Indicative RFQ target |
|---|---|
| Propylene content | Lot-declared mass% or mol%; minimum and allowable variation agreed |
| Propane balance | Measured content and contractual range on the same basis |
| Light and heavy hydrocarbons | Full C2/C3/C4+ profile with component or group limits |
| Dienes and acetylenes | Declare methylacetylene, propadiene and other relevant unsaturates |
| Total sulfur | Maximum with method, units and sulfur-equivalent reporting basis |
| Hydrogen sulfide and mercaptans | Separate limits where required; no inference from total sulfur alone |
| Water and oxygenates | Agreed analyte list, maximum values and reporting limits |
| Commercial quantity | Total stream tonnes or agreed contained-propylene calculation; basis explicit |
| Acceptance documents | Representative full-stream analysis, current SDS and shipment COA |
Applications
Common uses
Purchased for upgrading, separation or downstream processes specifically approved for the offered refinery stream. Direct substitution into a polymer-grade feed contract requires separate technical approval. Buying detail: Submit the plant's acceptable composition range and treatment constraints. Agree how compositional variation affects acceptance and price, including the assay and calculation used if settlement is based on contained propylene.
Export planning
Shipping & logistics
The actual mixture determines the shipment description, approved containment and receiving requirements. Review a compatible pipeline, pressure-tank or gas-carrier route using the current cargo SDS. Confirm terminal acceptance, metering or weighing method and named delivery point before selecting the Incoterm and dispatch window.
